Stanford professor stumps for electoral alternative

A Stanford professor is proposing that states decide to throw their electoral votes behind the winner of the nations popular vote. If 11 of the largest states did this then the winner of the popular vote would also when the electoral vote. The advantage of this idea is that it wouldn’t require any constitutional changes.
